Former DGP HJ Dora laid to rest with state honours

Hyderabad: The HJ Dora funeral was conducted with full state honours at Mahaprasthanam crematorium in Jubilee Hills on Saturday, as senior police officers and officials paid tribute to the former Director General of Police of united Andhra Pradesh.

The funeral procession began from his residence in Jubilee Hills. A large number of police personnel participated and accompanied the cortege to the cremation ground.

Earlier in the day, several senior officials and dignitaries visited the residence to pay their respects. They offered floral tributes after viewing the mortal remains of the veteran police officer.

Senior officers attend HJ Dora funeral

State Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy paid his last respects at the HJ Dora funeral and personally shouldered the bier of his mentor.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar and Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh also joined in carrying the bier. Their participation reflected the respect the police fraternity held for the late officer.

Speaking on the occasion, Shivadhar Reddy recalled Dora’s guidance during the early years of his career. He said the former police chief had encouraged him when he served as a young Superintendent of Police.

The DGP noted that Dora once posted him to Srikakulam, which was Dora’s home district. According to him, the posting helped him gain valuable experience under the guidance of the senior officer.

Police fraternity pays tribute at HJ Dora funeral

Several senior police officials attended the HJ Dora funeral and paid their respects.

Former DGP Jitender and IPS officers Rajiv Trivedi and S. Chandrasekhar Reddy placed floral wreaths at the cremation site.

Other officials and colleagues also remembered Dora for his contributions to policing and administrative reforms.

They said the late officer played an important role in strengthening public service and guiding many young officers during his tenure.
