Hyderabad: A fire broke out at the Indian Bank branch located near the Taj Mahal Hotel in Narayanaguda on Wednesday morning, reportedly due to an electrical short circuit.
According to police, flames suddenly erupted from electrical wiring inside the bank. Customers and staff present at the time quickly alerted emergency services by calling 100. Responding swiftly, Narayanaguda police reached the site and called in the fire department.
Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control using a single fire engine. Thanks to the timely intervention, a major disaster was averted.
However, the fire caused extensive damage to property within the branch. Computers, air conditioners, furniture, and important files were destroyed in the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
Preliminary assessment by fire officials suggests that a short circuit was the likely cause of the incident. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances.
