Fire breaks out during BSP rally in Shadnagar after firecrackers hit flex banners

Hyderabad: A fire broke out during a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) rally in Shadnagar on Thursday after firecrackers set off by party workers ignited nearby flex banners surrounding an electric tower.

The incident occurred as BSP leaders led a procession from the local Mandal Development Office to Sai Raja Function Hall. As the rally passed through a key town junction, party workers burst firecrackers.

Sparks from the firecrackers landed on the flex banners wrapped around an electric tower, triggering the blaze. Panic ensued among the crowd, which included residents, commuters, drivers, and BSP workers.

Police and fire services were immediately alerted. Responders arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames before they spread further.

Though no injuries were reported, the fire caused partial damage to electric wires around the tower. The quick intervention by fire personnel prevented a larger mishap.
