FFSC convocation at NSTI Hyderabad awards 9th batch certificates

Hyderabad: R. Krishnaiah, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), distributed certificates to trainees at the FFSC convocation Hyderabad held for the 9th batch at the NSTI campus in Vidyanagar on Friday.

The convocation marked the completion of training under the Furniture and Fittings Skill Council for the job role of Multipurpose Assistant – Furniture Production and Installation (NSQF Level–3, FFS Q0901). The event took place at the FFSC–NSTI Campus.

Nine candidates from tribal villages in Kothagudem and Bhadrachalam districts completed the course successfully. Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, District Collector, had sponsored them. They passed the assessment and received certificates along with other trainees from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

FFSC convocation Hyderabad sees apprenticeship offers for trainees

At the FFSC convocation Hyderabad, around 20 trainees received apprenticeship offer letters from Hyderabad-based firms. These included M/s ANB Interiors & Exteriors, Comfos, Krissm Modulars, Arani Wood, Modulux Interio and Araniwood. The stipends ranged between ₹15,000 and ₹18,000 per month.

Priya S., Principal, NSTI (Women), Vidyanagar, welcomed the dignitaries. She said nearly 200 candidates had been trained across nine batches so far. She added that 20 women trainees completed furniture production training and secured placements in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, R. Krishnaiah said FFSC had focused on identifying unemployed youth from economically weaker sections and equipping them with industry-relevant skills. R. Krishnaiah appreciated companies that offered placements. He also acknowledged the CSR support of M/s Green Panel, Srikalahasti in Tirupati district for skill development in the furniture and interior sector.

He noted that India has a strong tradition of craftsmanship reflected in its monuments. However, he stressed the need for skill development for sustainable livelihoods. He also highlighted the importance of learning emerging technologies, including applications of Artificial Intelligence. He praised the advanced machinery and facilities at the FFSC Centre of Excellence.

Shri Aditya Margam, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi ITI, Nirmal District, spoke about the need for continuous skilling and upskilling. Prasanth P., Vice President – Regional Skill Chapters (South), outlined courses in demand based on a skill gap study in Hyderabad. He urged parents to consider the furniture and interior sector as a growing industry offering employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
