HYDERABAD: A farmer was electrocuted while installing an electric fence around his maize field in Surapur village of Lingala mandal, according to reports from local residents.
The deceased, Desha Parvathalu (40), a resident of Surapur, had set up the electric fence on Wednesday night to protect his crop from wild boars. On Thursday morning, when he returned to the field, he came in contact with the live wire and died on the spot due to an electric shock.
Parvathalu is survived by his wife Chittemma, a son, and a daughter.
The incident has left the local farming community in shock, highlighting the risks involved in unregulated electric fencing used to protect crops.
