Amravati, January 8: Security arrangements for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have been significantly upgraded following intelligence reports of potential threats from Maoist groups. The Chief Minister’s Special Security Group (SSG) has been reinforced with additional counteraction teams to enhance his protection.
Alongside the existing Black Cat Commandos, National Security Guard (NSG), and SSG personnel, six specially trained commandos from the counteraction unit will now be part of the security detail. These commandos have undergone advanced training with the Special Protection Group (SPG), known for managing the Prime Minister’s security.
To ensure heightened vigilance, these commandos will follow a unique dress code, featuring black shirts and dark brown trousers. Their role will focus on neutralising external threats, complementing the NSG and SSG teams responsible for escorting the Chief Minister to safety during emergencies.
Officials stated that the new measures aim to provide robust protection without causing inconvenience to the public. The counteraction team will form a critical outer layer of security, actively addressing potential attacks while ensuring the CM’s safety.
