Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday arrested an Endowment Department inspector in Hyderabad. The endowment inspector was caught for accepting a ₹50,000 bribe related to a land survey.
Bribe sought for Hyderabad land survey report
Akavaram Kiran Kumar, Inspector at the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Endowments, was caught red-handed. He was taking ₹50,000 as part of a ₹1.5 lakh bribe. Kumar had allegedly demanded the amount from a complainant in exchange for issuing a survey report. It was linked to a specific land survey number in Hyderabad.
The trap was laid by ACB officials, and the bribe money was recovered at the time of the transaction. The inspector was arrested and produced before the Special ACB Court in Hyderabad. His office is located within the Endowment Commissioner’s premises.
