Employees thank CM over health scheme, accident insurance

Hyderabad: Leaders of employee and pensioner unions thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy after the Cabinet approved a comprehensive health scheme and accident insurance cover for government staff.

They met the Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for extending Rs 1.20 crore accident insurance to employees and pensioners. In addition, the Cabinet cleared the health scheme with a corpus fund of Rs 1,056 crore.

Union leaders said the decision fulfilled a long-pending demand spanning decades. They stated that the new scheme would allow cashless treatment for 1,998 diseases.

Health scheme and insurance draw praise from unions

According to union representatives, the health scheme marks a historic step in safeguarding employee welfare. They said access to cashless treatment would benefit thousands of serving staff and retired personnel.

Furthermore, they noted that the Cabinet under Revanth Reddy placed employee interests at the forefront. The leaders added that other States could follow this model.

Among those who met the Chief Minister were leaders of Telangana Employees, Teachers and Pensioners Joint Action Committee, PR TU, UTF, TNGO, TJGO, STU and various service associations. Representatives from Revenue, Secretariat, Fourth Class Employees, Excise and Deputy Collectors associations also attended.

They reiterated that the government’s decision strengthened social security measures for employees and pensioners across the State.
