Hyderabad: BJP MP Eatala Rajender on Sunday accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of insulting the self-respect of Telangana residents. Addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha in Secunderabad, Rajender said Telangana was created through the sacrifices of thousands, but its dignity was now being compromised under the Congress government.
Rajender, a former state Health Minister, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the COVID-19 crisis. He recalled fears during the early days of the pandemic that India would face a catastrophe similar to the US and China. Despite global pressure, he said, Modi pushed forward vaccine manufacturing domestically and ensured international supply as well.
He credited Modi with initiating the Make in India campaign to retain the country’s intellectual capital and said the Prime Minister had backed Indian startups with substantial funding support.
Calling Modi a visionary, Rajender attacked the Congress, calling it synonymous with corruption. He said the party’s track record was one of betrayal and alleged it had repeatedly disrespected Telangana’s aspirations. He reiterated that Telangana statehood was won after years of struggle and humiliation.
He claimed that the Congress regime under Revanth Reddy had once again dented the state’s self-respect. According to Rajender, Modi had elevated India’s global image and turned the nation into a guiding force for others. He described Modi as someone walking in the ideological path of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and said the public now wanted a leader who could remove the metaphorical thorns from their journey.
He also said many development programmes in Telangana were being funded by the Centre, but Congress leaders refused to acknowledge it, accusing them of being willfully blind to the facts.
