School bus hit by DCM van in Pocharam IT corridor

Hyderabad: A school bus accident occurred in the Pocharam IT corridor under the Rachakonda Commissionerate after a speeding DCM van rammed a private school bus from behind on Thursday morning. The incident took place within the limits of the Pocharam IT Corridor police station.

According to local residents, the school bus carried students from Pocharam Jodimetla towards Narapally. As the driver took a U-turn, a DCM van coming from the Ghatkesar side crashed into the bus at high speed. The impact forced the school bus to turn towards the Hyderabad side.

The collision did not injure any students. However, the accident triggered panic among commuters and people in the surrounding area.

School bus accident under police investigation

Police said preliminary information suggested that the DCM van driver drove under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The van involved in the crash carried registration number AP 29 TA 5266. Police teams reached the spot soon after the incident and began an investigation.

Officials are examining the sequence of events that led to the school bus accident. Police said they will take further action after completing the inquiry.
