Hyderabad: DGP Shivadhar Reddy handed over an insurance payout of ₹1.05 crore to the family of AR constable B Ramanaidu, who died in a road accident last year.
Bank of Baroda representatives handed the cheque to the constable’s brother Boya Beechupalli at the DGP office on Monday. The payout followed a special salary package agreement between the bank and the state police department.
Insurance payout processed under the police salary scheme
Officials said the bank provides insurance coverage to personnel under the agreement in cases of accidental death. They added that the bank processed the claim soon after the incident.
Constable Ramanaidu died in a road accident last year. He maintained his salary account at the Narketpally branch under the Baroda police salary package.
Senior officials attended the programme. These included IG Welfare Dr Gajarao Bhupal, Bank of Baroda General Manager and Zonal Head Ritesh Kumar, DGM and Regional Head Ravi HG, and Defence Banking Advisor Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Prasad.
