Davos investment deals brought Rs 2.19 lakh crore, says Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Davos investment deals brought Rs 2.19 lakh crore in investments to the state across 2024 and 2025, Minister Sridhar Babu told the Assembly on Thursday.

Responding to questions from BJP members, the minister said the government signed 44 MoUs with various companies during the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting visits. He added that these Davos investment deals were at different stages of grounding.

He said the projects would generate direct employment for 68,150 unemployed youth. Moreover, the government expected these investments to boost industrial activity across sectors.

Davos investment year-wise breakup explained

The minister said 18 MoUs signed in 2024 brought Rs 40,232 crore in investments. In 2025, 26 MoUs added Rs 1,78,950 crore. Together, these Davos investment totalled Rs 2,19,182 crore through 44 agreements.

He further said land had already been allocated to six companies. These firms had committed investments worth Rs 81,800 crore under the Davos investment framework.

As a result, the state government generated revenue of Rs 1,540 crore through land allocation. He noted that the process was progressing in phases, with implementation underway for several projects.

Davos investment deals impact on infrastructure and jobs

The minister also highlighted developments in the IT sector. He said the IT Tower in Nizamabad had a total capacity of 681 seats.

At present, 11 companies were operating from the facility. These firms employed 276 people, he added. The minister said such infrastructure would support future expansion under the Davos investment initiative.

He reiterated that the government was focusing on converting MoUs into grounded projects. Therefore, officials were monitoring progress to ensure timely execution. The Davos investment deals remained central to the state’s investment strategy.
