Damodar Rajanarsimha urges use of welfare schemes at Gram Sabha

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha urged people to use government welfare schemes while addressing a Gram Sabha at Almayipet village in Andole mandal.

He attended the meeting under the Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika programme and interacted with villagers. Officials from various departments explained development works and beneficiary details.

The programme began with the State song. Officials then read out the Chief Minister’s message to villagers.

The Minister said the government is focusing on welfare for all sections. Therefore, he asked officials to ensure benefits reach every eligible person.

Authorities are conducting 30 types of medical tests for women and Self-Help Group members. He urged them to use these services.

Officials provided loans worth ₹3.50 crore to 28 Self-Help Groups. They also extended an interest subsidy of ₹2.50 lakh.

He said schemes like Indiramma housing, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima and free RTC travel for women are in force. The government also provides 200 units of free electricity.

Development works and local issues addressed

The Minister said officials will develop basic infrastructure if a new colony comes up in Survey No. 513. Roads, water supply, electricity and housing will be ensured.

He approved BT road works, under drainage and CC roads in the village. He also directed officials to resolve local issues quickly.

Only four of the seven sanctioned Indiramma houses are complete. He urged the remaining beneficiaries to finish construction and assured support.

He said the government has expanded educational facilities in the region. A pharmacy college will come up soon. Industries are also likely near Sangupet Gutta.

He directed the RDO to cancel wrongful land registrations and restore land to poor beneficiaries.

District Collector Pravinya urged people to participate in programmes run by multiple departments. She said schemes like Indira Mahila Shakti and ration card distribution are strengthening families.

She added that ragi java breakfast, mid-day meals for Intermediate students and family life insurance will begin soon.

The Minister and the Collector later laid the foundation stone for an Indiramma house.
