HYDERABAD: In view of the ongoing summer season, Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha held a high-level review meeting with senior officials to assess and direct the provision of essential amenities across government hospitals in the state.
The Minister issued several key instructions aimed at ensuring comfort and safety for patients and their attendants. He directed that safe drinking water be made readily available in all government hospitals, and suggested setting up chalivendras (drinking water kiosks) wherever necessary.
He instructed hospital authorities to carry out repairs on non-functional air conditioners and coolers with the support of donors and bring them back into operation at the earliest.
Highlighting the increased risk of fire accidents during the summer, the Minister emphasised the need for coordination with local fire stations. He also stressed the importance of raising public awareness about heatstroke and its prevention.
To avoid disruptions in patient care due to possible electricity outages, the Minister instructed officials to ensure that generators are kept in working condition and readily available.
