Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police issued a six-month externment order against repeat offender Sheikh Ameer on Thursday. Commissioner Avinash Mohanty approved the action after reviewing reports submitted by Attapur Police.
Ameer, aged 26, belongs to Jalpally Shahinnagar and now lives in MM Pahadi under Attapur limits. Police said he faced 12 cases across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates. The cases involved murder, kidnapping, and possession of deadly weapons. Officers noted that several jail terms had not changed his behaviour.
Cyberabad Police say externment protects public safety
Investigators earlier issued show-cause notices, but Ameer did not respond. As a result, the externment process moved forward. Attapur Inspector Nageshwar Rao served the order and instructed him to report his location through the nearest police station during the externment period.
The inspector said the action aimed to protect citizens and maintain a peaceful environment. He added that firm steps were needed when repeat offences created fear among residents.
