Cyberabad police launch Arrive Alive Campaign Phase-II

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police launched Arrive Alive Campaign Phase-II in Gachibowli on Friday, focusing on improving vision health among heavy vehicle drivers to strengthen road safety. The drive was conducted in association with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC).

As part of the campaign, around 220 drivers of lorries, buses and tippers underwent free eye screening. Pristine Eye Hospitals extended support for the programme through the Pristine Vision Foundation. Officials said the initiative aimed to address vision-related risks that often go unnoticed among commercial drivers.

Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh said poor vision remained an overlooked cause of road accidents. Therefore, he urged drivers to adopt defensive driving practices and prioritise regular health checks. He emphasised that clear vision was essential for safer roads.

Traffic DCP–I Ranjan Ratan Kumar highlighted the importance of helmet use for riders and pillion passengers. He said children above four years must also wear helmets to reduce the risk of head injuries. Meanwhile, Traffic DCP–II Sheshadrini Reddy warned drivers against drunk driving and called for strict adherence to traffic rules.

Dr Sravya of Pristine Eye Hospital advised drivers above 40 years to undergo periodic eye examinations, even if they did not notice symptoms. She said early detection of vision problems could prevent accidents and improve long-term eye health.

Officials stated that Arrive Alive Campaign Phase-II formed part of a sustained effort to reduce road accidents in Cyberabad. They added that regular awareness programmes and health screenings would continue to promote responsible driving practices among heavy vehicle operators.
