HYDERABAD: The Telangana Agriculture Department has released a preliminary report indicating crop damage across 14,956 acres in the state, according to Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, the Minister said that the crop loss was assessed based on surveys conducted between April 3 and 9. The damage is primarily due to recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms that affected several farming regions.
Minister Tummala stated that officials have been directed to conduct a farmer-wise survey to identify individual losses accurately. He assured that the government is making arrangements to disburse compensation to the affected farmers at the earliest.
The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting farmers during times of distress and said timely relief would be provided once the detailed assessment is completed.
