CP Sajjanar warns on fake SIMs, urges Sanchar Saathi use

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar warned citizens about the misuse of fake SIM cards and urged them to verify mobile connections in their names using the Sanchar Saathi app.

Sharing an alert on X, Sajjanar asked people to stay alert and act quickly to protect their identity.

He advised citizens to use the Sanchar Saathi app to check for unknown mobile numbers linked to their documents.

Through the app, users can block suspicious SIMs created with forged KYC details.

Sajjanar said fraudsters often use fake identity documents to obtain SIM cards. They later misuse these numbers for financial fraud and cybercrime.

Police officials said timely reports of fake SIMs help trace fraud networks faster and reduce cyber offences.
