Hyderabad: Counting for the Jubilee Hills bye-election will begin at 8 a.m. on 14 November, District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan said during a briefing at the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Indoor Stadium in Yousufguda. He added that the administration completed all preparations and then explained the plan for the counting process.
Jubilee Hills bye-election arrangements outlined
Karnan said officials would open the process with postal ballots when counting starts at 8 a.m. He noted that 59 candidates, including NOTA, entered the contest. Moreover, he said the Election Commission of India granted special permission to install 42 counting tables. As a result, officials planned a maximum of ten rounds for the constituency.
During the review, Karnan explained that ECI general observers and ECI teams would monitor each stage. In addition, he said the administration deployed 186 personnel for the exercise. The list included counting supervisors, counting assistants, and micro-observers who track ballot movement. Furthermore, he said officials would issue updates on an LED screen and through the EC app. He stressed that only candidates, their agents, and counting agents could enter the centre, while every other individual must remain outside.
On security, Joint Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal said the police created a strong plan for the day. Additionally, he said all wings of the force would stay around the venue throughout the process. He added that Section 144 would remain active in the area. Consequently, the police would act against any violation of the restrictions.
Additional Commissioner Hemant Keshav Patil, Returning Officer P. Sairam, Vigilance Additional SP Narasimha Reddy, and others attended the briefing.
