Congress seeks votes on visible development in Kamareddy: Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad: Congress senior leader and Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammed Shabbir Ali said the Congress was seeking votes in the Kamareddy municipal elections based on visible development already delivered in the town.

He made the statement on Thursday while campaigning across Wards 3, 4, 5, 8, 26, 29, 30, and 31 in Kamareddy municipality. During the campaign, local residents welcomed him with garlands.

Shabbir Ali said many leaders were making fresh promises of development. However, he said the Congress was placing completed works before the voters. He asked people to “teach a lesson” to leaders who, according to him, stayed away for two-and-a-half years after winning elections and returned only during polls.

Meanwhile, the Congress leader alleged that some political leaders were trying to provoke communities and create divisions along caste and religious lines to gain votes. Therefore, he urged voters to remain cautious against such tactics. Stressing unity, he said humanity should come before caste and religion. He added that Kamareddy needed inclusive development.

Shabbir Ali said his goal was to develop Kamareddy into a role model town in Telangana. Accordingly, he announced that the Congress had prepared a special municipal manifesto with ward-wise development plans. He said the document focused on drainage works, streetlighting, and core civic infrastructure. He also said Congress candidates would remain accountable for implementation.

Declaring himself the guarantor of Kamareddy’s development, Shabbir Ali said he would personally secure government funds and monitor all works. He assured that there would be no delay or compromise in matters related to the town’s progress.

Finally, appealing for public support, he said welfare schemes were reaching every household and must continue without interruption. He urged voters to back the Indian National Congress and ensure a strong victory for its candidates to accelerate Kamareddy’s development.

Congress leaders, party workers, and contesting candidates participated in the campaign.
