Congress puts organisational meetings on hold amid India–Pakistan tensions

Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress has decided to suspend all party programmes temporarily in view of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Key organisational activities, including the ongoing “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan” meetings, have been postponed.

PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud issued verbal instructions to party leaders and functionaries across the state, asking them to halt all scheduled gatherings at the district, mandal, block, and constituency levels until 11 May.

The Congress meetings also include those planned to review and select party committees—from village units to district-level bodies—being carried out by PCC observers as part of the structural overhaul of the party organisation.

Party sources said the decision was made purely as a precautionary measure, given the prevailing atmosphere.
