Congress leaders file complaint against Palakurthy MLA Yashaswini Reddy

Hyderabad: Internal dissent within the Congress intensified ahead of the municipal polls, as party leaders from Palakurthy lodged a formal complaint against Palakurthy MLA Yashaswini Reddy and her mother-in-law Jhansi Reddy.

A delegation of Congress leaders met Telangana Congress incharge Meenakshi Natarajan at the MLA quarters in Hyderabad on Monday. Among them were Thorrur Market Chairman Tirupati Reddy, PAC Chairman Kakirala Hariprasad, and senior leader Kishore Reddy. The group expressed dissatisfaction with Yashaswini Reddy’s leadership, alleging that she and her family failed to secure crucial gram panchayat victories during the recent local body elections, leading to a complaint against Palakurthy MLA.

Leaders claim marginalisation despite local gains

The complainants said they had independently won 10 major gram panchayats and worked to strengthen the Congress base at the grassroots level. However, they alleged that the party leadership was ignoring their efforts and not giving them due recognition, prompting a widespread complaint against Palakurthy MLA within the constituency.

The internal feud has raised political tensions in the Palakurthy Assembly segment. Party cadres are now closely watching how Meenakshi Natarajan will respond to the growing factionalism as Congress prepares for key municipal contests. The complaint against Palakurthy MLA underscores the challenges facing the party.
