Congress disciplinary panel reviews pending cases, warns of action in local polls

Hyderabad: The Congress disciplinary panel met on Friday to examine long-pending internal cases, party MP Mallu Ravi said after the meeting.

He stated that the committee discussed a case related to Niranjan Reddy and reached a decision. Party leaders will speak to more members before the vice president issues a formal announcement.

Ravi added that the panel reviewed several complaints from the Karimnagar region. It decided to send showcause notices and summon the concerned individuals for an explanation.

With municipal, MPTC, and ZPTC elections nearing, Ravi stressed the need for party discipline. He said all candidates must contest under the party symbol. Any member running against an official nominee will face suspension.

He noted that more details will be shared during the next committee session.

On the recent sarpanch elections, Ravi pointed to internal rifts in many areas. Rebel candidates caused vote splits, helping third-party contestants to win in several places.
