Hyderabad: Malkajgiri Municipal Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy reviewed footpath development and roadside margin works on Uppal Road near Pista House during a field inspection.
The Commissioner visited the stretch to check the progress of pedestrian infrastructure works. He also assessed the present condition of the corridor.
Municipal officials accompanied Vinay Krishna Reddy during the inspection. They explained the development works underway along the footpath and road margin.
However, officials noticed misuse along some sections of the corridor. People had been using parts of the footpath and road margins for open urination.
They had also dumped waste along the roadside margins. As a result, the surroundings had turned unhygienic.
The Commissioner raised concern over the situation. He directed civic officials to take immediate corrective steps.
Commissioner directs green buffer along Uppal Road footpath
During the inspection, the UBD Director and the municipal team briefed the Commissioner on the development plan for the corridor.
They explained measures planned to improve the environment and maintain roadside spaces. The plan also aimed to protect the footpath from misuse.
After the briefing, Vinay Krishna Reddy directed officials to create a green buffer between the road margin and the footpath.
He asked them to plant trees and ornamental plants along the stretch. The plantation will act as a barrier and discourage misuse of the space.
The Commissioner also asked officials to maintain the greenery regularly. Proper upkeep will help keep the corridor clean and improve the surroundings.
