Hyderabad: A cold wave in Telangana brought minimum temperatures below 8°C in several districts on Friday night. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) expects similar weather for the next three days.
Kohir in Sangareddy district recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 7.9°C. Bhimpur in Adilabad district followed with 7°C. Twelve districts reported temperatures below 10°C. Eight more districts registered between 10.1°C and 11°C. The rest saw lows from 11.1°C to 14°C.
The IMD said low-level winds from the east and southeast were causing the current cold conditions. It forecast minimum temperatures between 11°C and 15°C over the next three days.
Eastern winds drive cold wave in Telangana
Chilly winds swept through many areas from 8 AM to 11 AM and again between 5 PM and 7 PM. The weather affected daily routines and added to public discomfort.
