Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended Ugadi celebrations at Ravindra Bharati and dedicated the new Telugu year to farmers, highlighting welfare and agriculture-focused initiatives.
During the Ugadi celebrations organised by the Telangana government, the Chief Minister unveiled the Sri Parabhava Nama Ugadi Panchangam. Later, he addressed the gathering and described the new year as “Rythu Nama Samvatsaram.”

The Chief Minister said agriculture remains central to the state’s progress. He stated that the government is taking steps to make farming profitable and sustainable. Accordingly, he noted that farmers should earn better returns and live with dignity.
Meanwhile, he announced that Rythu Bharosa funds will be credited to farmers’ accounts from March 22. He added that the government has already spent around ₹18,000 crore under the scheme.
In addition, the Chief Minister said the government waived farm loans up to ₹2 lakh to reduce the financial burden on farmers. He pointed out that a majority of families in Telangana depend on agriculture.
Further, he highlighted the introduction of the Bhu Bharati initiative to resolve land ownership issues. He said the move replaced earlier systems that caused difficulties for farmers.
At the same time, the Chief Minister stressed that the government is working to position Telangana as a leading state in the country. He also assured that authorities remain alert to tackle natural calamities.
On the occasion, he extended Ugadi greetings and wished for prosperity and peace across the state.
Earlier, the Chief Minister honoured priests who participated in the Panchanga Sravanam.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao and Konda Surekha, along with MP Vem Narender Reddy and other leaders, attended the event.
