CM Revanth Reddy mourns Telangana anthem lyricist Andeshree’s sudden death at 64

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday mourned the sudden death of Telangana anthem lyricist Andeshree, calling him “the literary peak of Telangana.” The Chief Minister said the poet’s death shocked him deeply and reminded him of their long association.

Andeshree, aged 64, collapsed at his home on Monday morning. His family rushed him to Gandhi Hospital, but doctors confirmed that he had died before arrival. His sudden death threw the Telugu literary community into mourning.

Revanth Reddy said the Praja government restructured the state anthem with new tunes after coming to power, and Andeshree guided that effort. He recalled their discussions on the anthem’s spirit and praised the poet’s creative vision.

The Chief Minister said Andeshree’s writing awakened people during the Telangana statehood struggle and continues to inspire younger generations. He offered condolences to Andeshree’s family and prayed for peace to his soul.
