CM Revanth Reddy targets KCR, Vijayan during Kerala visit

Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy criticised BRS chief KCR and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, alleging both had weakened their respective states over the past decade.

During his visit to Kerala, Revanth Reddy released the UDF manifesto in Kochi along with local leaders. He said Telangana had already rejected the BRS government in December 2023 and predicted a similar outcome in Kerala.

He stated that the UDF would form the next government and remain in power for a decade. Therefore, he positioned the alliance as an alternative to the ruling dispensation.

Revanth Reddy challenges Vijayan, backs UDF guarantees

Revanth Reddy challenged Vijayan to visit Telangana and review the implementation of welfare schemes. He said his government functioned as a service-oriented administration rather than a ruling entity.

He cited electoral victories in by-elections and local body polls as proof of public support. In addition, he said the government provided over 67,000 jobs and implemented farm loan waivers.

He also highlighted financial support extended to farmers under welfare programmes. Meanwhile, he said governance experience came from understanding people’s lives rather than holding positions.

The UDF manifesto, released under the slogan “Kerala wins, UDF leads,” promised several welfare measures. These included free bus travel for women in KSRTC buses and monthly assistance of ₹1,000 for female college students.

The alliance also promised to raise social pensions to ₹3,000 and provide health insurance up to ₹25 lakh per family in the name of Oommen Chandy.

Further, it proposed interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for youth to start businesses and schemes like Job Watch Tower and Yuva Sree for employment.

The manifesto included free dialysis for BPL families, mobile chemotherapy units and free mammogram tests for women. It also proposed no-bill hospitals on the lines of JIPMER.

Additionally, it promised scholarships for students studying abroad, a tribal university in Wayanad and increased wages for ASHA workers.

The UDF said it would set up a monitoring committee to ensure implementation of promises and aim to develop Kerala as a global healthcare destination.
