Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the film industry should grow as a major sector and contribute to Telangana’s development.

He made the remarks after inaugurating Allu Cinemas, a Dolby theatre complex built by the family of producer Allu Aravind at Kokapet in Hyderabad.

He expressed hope that the film sector would grow in Telangana like the IT and pharmaceutical industries.

Revanth Reddy calls for global growth of Telugu film industry

Revanth Reddy said cinema strongly influences the middle class and society. According to him, films often shape people’s thinking and affect key life decisions.

He said the Telugu film industry should aim to produce films at global standards. Instead of only watching Hollywood movies, the industry should strive to reach that level.

The Chief Minister added that the film sector should evolve into a knowledge hub. Consequently, such an ecosystem would help filmmakers create world-class films.

He also urged the Telugu film industry to compete with Hollywood rather than limiting itself to the pan-India market.

Revanth Reddy expressed confidence that the Dolby theatre built by the Allu Aravind family would bring recognition to Telangana.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, MLA Kundur Jayaveer, Telangana Film Development Corporation chairman Dil Raju and actor Allu Arjun attended the event.
