Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress government of betraying Telangana’s unemployed youth by failing to deliver on its 2-lakh jobs pledge. He described the promise as a “core election guarantee” and said the delay had driven youth frustration to a boiling point.
He reminded the public that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi had stated the government should step down if it failed to generate two lakh jobs within the first year.
Congress failed youth, farmers, and women: KTR
KTR criticised the current job drive, saying the government had only issued 65,000 appointment letters. These, he said, were for posts already processed during former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao’s tenure. According to him, not a single new recruitment notification has been issued, and even the job calendar has been shelved.
Frustration, he warned, is not limited to unemployed youth alone. Their families, too, are condemning the government for its inaction. He accused Congress of indulging in recruitment scams and claimed that the previous BRS government had filled 1.65 lakh posts.
In addition to job-related grievances, KTR targeted the government’s failure to deliver on key welfare schemes. About 70 lakh farmers, he said, are still waiting for Rythu Bandhu payments. He also pointed to the delay in the ₹2,500 monthly financial assistance promised to women under the six guarantees.
He described the Congress manifesto, which included over 400 promises, as a collection of “deceptive campaign gimmicks.” Telangana’s youth, he warned, are ready to respond. He vowed that the BRS would continue exposing the government’s failures and build momentum against it.
