Hyderabad: A Chinese manjha caused another serious accident in the city after a software engineer suffered severe injuries while riding a motorcycle.
The incident occurred when Chaitanya, a software engineer, was travelling from Gachibowli to Hafeezpet on a bike. During the ride, a strand of Chinese manjha hanging in the air wrapped tightly around his hand.
The sharp string cut into his hand like a blade, causing deep injuries. Residents noticed the incident and rushed to help. They immediately shifted him to a hospital in Madhapur for treatment.
Despite a ban on Chinese manjha, careless use continues to put lives at risk. Officials said such negligence has led to repeated accidents across the city.

Authorities said kite strings often snap during flying and remain suspended in the air or lie across roads. As a result, they pose a serious threat to bikers and scooter riders.
Several past incidents have shown that manjha can cause fatal injuries. Therefore, officials urged strict enforcement of the ban to prevent further accidents.
Police and civic authorities appealed to the public to stop using manjha completely. They also asked citizens to report illegal sale and use of the banned string.
Officials warned that continued violations could lead to stricter action. They stressed that public cooperation remained crucial to prevent loss of life due to Chinese manjha.
