Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting with special officers and senior officials to assess monsoon preparedness, urea supply management, and ration card distribution across districts.
The meeting followed a directive from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who recently ordered the deployment of senior officers to oversee implementation of government schemes in the districts. Rao instructed officers to maintain strong field presence to assure the public that the administration is vigilant.
Special officers were tasked with inspecting monsoon readiness measures, monitoring urea availability, and ensuring timely delivery of ration cards. Inspections of public facilities such as primary health centres were also mandated.
Special Chief Secretary for Disaster Management Arvind Kumar briefed the gathering on rainfall forecasts and response strategies. He said the State Disaster Response Force is fully equipped, and 2,000 trained Aapada Mitras are on standby for emergency interventions.
Irrigation Secretary Rahul Bojja reported that standard operating procedures are in place for pre- and post-monsoon inspections of tanks and reservoirs. Vulnerable points are under continuous monitoring.
The Transport Commissioner said joint enforcement teams from agriculture, marketing, transport, police, and other departments are working to prevent urea diversion.
Other senior officials present included Municipal Administration Secretary Ilambarithi, Tribal Welfare Secretary A. Sharath, Excise Commissioner C. Hari Kiran, SERP CEO Divya, Pollution Control Board Member Secretary Ravi, Future City Development Authority Commissioner K. Shashanka, and Fire Services Director G.V. Narayana.
