Hyderabad: Over 20 workers were seriously injured after a chemical reactor exploded at a factory in Pashamailaram, Patancheru, on Monday morning.
The blast triggered a fire that spread across the facility. Locals reported hearing a loud explosion followed by flames engulfing parts of the building.
Fire engines were rushed to the scene. Rescue personnel began evacuating workers as operations got underway to control the blaze.
The explosion occurred at a unit operated by Sigachi Chemicals. Several employees were trapped inside when the blast took place.
Medical teams moved the injured to nearby hospitals. Many were reported to have suffered burns and multiple trauma injuries.
