Hyderabad: A woman sustained injuries after a chain snatcher forcibly pulled off her gold mangalsutra near Malla Reddy Engineering College. This incident occurred under Medipally police limits on Friday.
According to police, the victim Renuka, a resident of Suprabhat Township in Divya Nagar, Narapally, was riding pillion with her husband Komarayya. As the couple approached the college area, an unidentified person on a motorcycle intercepted them. He snatched the gold chain from her neck.
The assailant targeted her mangalsutra, causing her to fall off the vehicle. The chain, weighing approximately 3 tolas, was broken and stolen during the attack. Renuka suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Following a complaint filed at the Medipally police station, officers have begun an investigation. Further details were awaited at the time of reporting.
