Chaderghat police nab auto thief, recover four stolen vehicles

Hyderabad: Chaderghat police made a breakthrough in a string of auto thefts reported across Hyderabad by arresting a key suspect and recovering four stolen vehicles. The accused was found linked to theft cases under multiple police station limits.

According to police, an auto belonging to local driver Mohammad Sabir Ahmad was stolen on January 12 or 13 from outside his residence. The driver filed a complaint on January 14, prompting an investigation.

On the same day, police conducting vehicle checks in Azampura detained a suspicious individual. During questioning, the man admitted to stealing autos in Chaderghat, Sultan Bazaar, Saroor Nagar, Dabeerpura, Santosh Nagar, and Abids.

Based on his confession, police searched an open plot near his residence and recovered four stolen autos. These included vehicles linked to cases from Chaderghat, Abids, and Santosh Nagar.

The accused was identified as Mohammad Siraj, 31. Police said he had targeted multiple parked autos across the city and concealed them locally.

Authorities continue surveillance on auto thefts and advised vehicle owners to remain alert. Police urged the public to park vehicles securely at night and report any suspicious movement immediately.
