HYDERABAD: The Central Government has sanctioned ₹1,554.99 crore under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to assist five states affected by natural calamities in 2024. The High-Level Committee (HLC), chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, approved the allocation on Wednesday.
The distribution of funds is as follows:
- Andhra Pradesh – ₹608.08 crore
- Nagaland – ₹170.99 crore
- Odisha – ₹255.24 crore
- Telangana – ₹231.75 crore
- Tripura – ₹288.93 crore
These funds are intended to aid recovery efforts following floods, landslides, and cyclones that impacted these states last year. Officials emphasized that the assistance will help accelerate restoration work, infrastructure repairs, and rehabilitation efforts in disaster-affected regions.
This financial aid highlights the Centre’s commitment to disaster relief and its focus on strengthening states’ resilience against future natural calamities. The NDRF continues to play a crucial role in supporting states in post-disaster recovery and preparedness initiatives.
