Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Wednesday directed officials to ensure separate identification of slums and other colonies in census house listing blocks and not merge them during enumeration planning.
He issued the instructions during a review meeting at the GHMC head office. The meeting covered preparation of house listing blocks, appointment of enumerators and supervisors, and coordination with cantonment authorities. Charge Census Officers, zonal and deputy commissioners attended the session.
Karnan said officials must complete the formation of census house listing blocks and upload population-related data on the CCMS portal by April 10. He also instructed them to finish the appointment of enumerators and supervisors at the circle level by April 18. These steps, he said, would ensure smooth execution of the house listing blocks exercise.

Further, he directed that training programmes for enumerators and supervisors be conducted at the circle level between April 18 and May 5. He said structured training would help maintain accuracy in data collection and reporting.
In addition, he said residents would be able to submit their family details online from April 24 to May 9. This provision, he noted, would support the overall census process and improve data access.
Additional Commissioner (Elections) Chandrakala, CMC Additional Commissioner Hemanth Borkade, MMC Additional Commissioner Hemanth Keshav Patil and the Cantonment Board CEO attended the meeting.
The GHMC directed officials to adhere to timelines and ensure accurate classification in census house listing across all jurisdictions.
