Hyderabad: A cellphone consignment worth over ₹10 lakh was stolen early Friday from a truck parked along the Nizamabad national highway.
According to police, the driver had halted the Hyderabad-bound truck for rest near the roadside during the early hours. The vehicle was loaded with boxes of mobile phones.
After a brief nap, the driver resumed his journey but checked the cargo before moving. He discovered the phone boxes missing and reported the theft to Nizamabad Rural police.
A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The driver informed police that the stolen items held a market value exceeding ₹10 lakh.
