Hyderabad: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood was hospitalised on Saturday after he fell ill while returning from Srisailam. His staff immediately rushed him to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills.
Senior police officials reached the hospital to enquire about his condition and interacted with the medical team for updates on his health.
Visit linked to Kaleshwaram probe
Sood’s sudden illness came a day after he arrived in Hyderabad and held a detailed meeting with officials at the CBI zonal office. Sources said the discussions, lasting more than two hours, were linked to the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
The Telangana government, in a letter to the Centre on September 1, had formally requested a CBI inquiry into corruption allegations in the Kaleshwaram project. Sood’s presence in Hyderabad soon after the request sparked political discussion.
