C V Anand inspects prisons, printing department in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: C. V. Anand conducted an inspection of prisons and a government printing unit in Hyderabad on Saturday. The C V Anand inspection focused on administrative efficiency, infrastructure and institutional functioning.

He visited the office of the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services at Jail Bhavan. Soumya Mishra received him and accompanied him during the visit.

During the inspection, C V Anand examined various sections within Jail Bhavan. He reviewed facilities, administrative systems and the Prison Control Room. In addition, he interacted with officials to assess overall functioning.

He assessed infrastructure and operational systems at the prison headquarters. Moreover, he appreciated efforts to maintain efficient administration and welfare-oriented practices. Soumya Mishra briefed him on reform measures, institutional management and initiatives to improve inmate living conditions and rehabilitation.

Senior prison officials accompanied the Special Chief Secretary during the visit. These included Inspector Generals Y. Rajesh and N. Murali Babu. Deputy Inspector Generals D. Srinivas and M. Sampath also joined the inspection.

The C V Anand inspection reviewed ongoing reforms and management practices in the prison system. Officials highlighted measures aimed at improving inmate welfare and strengthening institutional processes. Therefore, the visit focused on both administration and rehabilitation.

C V Anand inspection extends to Malakpet unit

Later, C V Anand visited the Office of the Commissioner of Printing, Stationery and Stores Purchase Department at Malakpet. He inspected the functioning of the unit and reviewed printing and production processes.

He appreciated the systematic operations at the facility. At the same time, he stressed the need for efficiency and modernization in government-run units.

The C V Anand inspection also covered land and buildings under the department. Authorities noted that the premises remained under the occupation of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The land, measuring about five acres and 12 guntas, has been allocated to the Telangana High Court. It is meant for the continuation of Criminal Courts at Nampally.

Therefore, C V Anand directed officials to take immediate steps to vacate the premises. He instructed Soumya Mishra and K. Ramakrishna to ensure that the Andhra Pradesh Print Press hands over the land to the High Court of Telangana without delay.
