The sudden turn pushed the bus off the highway into a roadside ditch. Passengers screamed as the vehicle tilted and the rear wheels lifted into the air. “For a few seconds, it felt like our lives were hanging by a thread,” said one passenger.
The driver quickly stopped the vehicle and opened the doors, allowing everyone to exit safely. Locals who saw the accident rushed to the spot and helped the passengers out. Meanwhile, traffic police reached the scene and began clearing the road to restore normal flow.
Officials from the transport department inspected the site and began collecting details about the vehicles involved. They said preliminary findings pointed to reckless overtaking as the cause of the accident.
