BRSV launches protest over Musi project, Talasani Srinivas Yadav flags concerns

Hyderabad: Former minister and MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav launched a protest campaign by BRSV over the Musi project, flagging concerns about its impact on residents.

He flagged off the protest at Telangana Bhavan as student wing teams began outreach programmes along the Musi River. From today until April 14, around 50 teams will tour riverbank areas.

These teams will meet residents and explain issues related to the Musi project. They will also highlight concerns raised by the party over the government’s approach.

Further, Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the party had no objection to Musi beautification. However, he warned against any move that could lead to destruction in the name of development.

He said people living along the Musi were in fear and uncertainty. At the same time, he criticised the government for acting arbitrarily, using its power.

Meanwhile, he said BRSV teams would take the issue directly to the public. In addition, they would explain what he termed the government’s “exploitative plans”.

He said the party would intensify the protest with support from the people. Moreover, he warned that the agitation would continue until the government responded.

Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the party would mobilise large numbers if required. He added that they would resist government actions if necessary.
