Hyderabad: A Miyapur murder shocked residents after a drunken quarrel between two brothers ended with one killing the other late Tuesday night.
The incident occurred in P.A. Nagar. The victim, Raju (27), worked as an auto-rickshaw driver. His younger brother Guruswamy drove a school bus. Both brothers lived with their mother and remained unmarried.
Police said the brothers had quarrelled frequently in the past fortnight. Most arguments reportedly occurred after they consumed alcohol.
On Tuesday night, another dispute broke out while the brothers were intoxicated. During the altercation, Guruswamy allegedly picked up a stone and attacked Raju.
Miyapur murder follows drunken fight between brothers
The blow struck Raju on the head and he collapsed immediately. Due to the severe head injury, he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, local residents alerted the police after the incident. Miyapur police reached the location and began an investigation.
Based on a complaint filed by the brothers’ mother, police registered a case in the Miyapur murder. Officers also took Guruswamy into custody.
Police said investigators were questioning the suspect and collecting evidence. Further details will emerge as the probe continues.
