Hyderabad police arrest two for bike stunt near Secretariat

Hyderabad: Saifabad Police arrested two youths for executing dangerous bike stunt sequences and filming videos on public roads near Lumbini Park and the Telangana Secretariat. Consequently, the bike stunt activity alarmed commuters and disrupted traffic in a high-security stretch.

Police identified the accused as Mohammed Akeel, 19, a courier worker from Bolakpur in Musheerabad, and Mohammed Ateeq, 22, who worked in a private job and lived in Aghapura, Nampally. Both repeatedly rode in a reckless manner while recording clips for social media.

Bike stunt incidents near the Secretariat trigger police action

Police said the duo performed each bike stunt to attract online attention. As a result, commuters using the route reported fear and inconvenience. Moreover, the violations raised concern due to the proximity to key government offices and security installations.

After receiving a tip-off, officers monitored the suspects closely. Subsequently, they conducted a planned operation and arrested both individuals. Police then seized their motorcycles and also confiscated the mobile phones used to record each bike stunt.

Officials said the accused endangered public safety and disrupted normal vehicular movement in a sensitive zone. Therefore, a court remanded them to judicial custody after the police produced them.

Saifabad SHO A. Seethaiah supervised the operation. Meanwhile, Investigating Officer V. Parameshwari led the case, while L. Sampath Kumar, B. Vijay Kumar, J. Lingaswamy, and S. Mahesh assisted in the operation.

Police warned that anyone attempting bike stunts on public roads, especially in high-security areas, will face strict action.
