HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has issued notices to the state government in connection with alleged irregularities in Bhoodan lands located in Nagaram village of Maheshwaram mandal, Ranga Reddy district. The action follows a petition filed by a person named Mahesh, who raised serious allegations regarding illegal registrations of Bhoodan lands.
The petitioner claimed that several IAS and IPS officers, along with their family members, had registered these lands under benami names. The state government, along with these officers and their relatives, were named as respondents in the case.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel informed the court that complaints had already been made to the government and the Bhoodan Board regarding the alleged violations, but no action had been taken. The lawyer requested that the matter be investigated by central agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Taking note of the submissions, the bench directed that no transactions should be carried out on the disputed Bhoodan land. Notices were issued to the respondents, and the next hearing in the matter has been scheduled for 26 June.
