Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said the police department will play a key role in helping Telangana achieve its $3 trillion economy goal by 2047.
He made the remarks during pre-budget meetings held at the Dr B R Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Thursday.
Bhatti Vikramarka first held discussions with Home Department officials. Later, he joined the pre-budget meeting of the Industries and IT departments with Industries and IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
The Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana continues to attract investors from across the country and abroad. Therefore, maintaining strong law and order is essential for sustaining investment growth.
He advised Home Department officials to stay vigilant. He also directed them to ensure that peace and security remain strong across the State.
Bhatti Vikramarka stresses police department role in economic growth
Bhatti Vikramarka suggested introducing electric vehicles in the police department in a phased manner. According to him, this reform will also support Hyderabad’s position as a leading global city.
He also emphasised the importance of CCTV surveillance in crime prevention. Therefore, he directed officials to expand the network of CCTV cameras across the State.
Officials must also repair and maintain existing cameras on time, he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana’s $3 trillion economy goal requires strong public–private partnership models. Consequently, he asked Industries Department officials to plan policies that encourage investment.
He also stressed the need for balanced regional development. Officials should focus on the RARE initiative, which represents the Rural Agri Region Economy.
At the same time, the government will continue implementing CURE and PURE initiatives to promote development in urban and rural areas.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the government plans to strengthen Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises across the State. The MSME sector, he noted, can generate employment and support new entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, Duddilla Sridhar Babu said Telangana currently ranks first in the country with 41 Global Capability Centres.
He added that the government will continue supporting the sector to maintain this momentum. The minister also suggested expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence in data centres.
Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Home Department Special Chief Secretary C V Anand, TGIIC Managing Director Shashank, Deputy CM’s Special Secretary Krishna Bhaskar and other senior officials attended the meeting.
