Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka urged elected representatives to support the Model Solar Village initiative, calling it key to transforming Telangana into a green energy-efficient state.
He distributed letters to Ministers, MLAs, and MLCs at the Assembly Hall on Sunday, inviting them to participate in the programme. The initiative aims to promote solar energy adoption at the household level.
Bhatti Vikramarka advised public representatives to install 2KW grid-connected solar rooftop systems at their residences. He said leaders must lead by example to encourage wider public participation in renewable energy use.
He added that such installations would help convert residential areas into small power generation centres. The move, he said, would also reduce electricity costs for households.
Model Solar Village initiative targets green transition
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Model Solar Village initiative would strengthen the state’s green energy grid. He noted that increased solar adoption would contribute to long-term sustainability.
He asked interested representatives to submit their residential details and latest electricity bills to the TGREDCO office in Khairatabad. Based on this, technical teams will conduct site surveys and install systems.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the programme marks a significant step toward achieving carbon neutrality. He added that it would help build an energy-secure Telangana while promoting environmentally responsible practices.
The government expects the initiative to create awareness and accelerate the shift toward renewable energy across the state.
