Bhatti Vikramarka hands over ₹1.2 crore accident insurance cheque to Singareni worker’s family

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Saturday handed over an accident insurance cheque of ₹1.2 crore to the family of a deceased Singareni worker under the State Government’s free accident insurance scheme.

The cheque was presented at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan to Latha, wife of Pendri Ranjith Kumar, who worked as a support man in the Ramagundam-1 area of Singareni and died recently in a road accident.

Officials said the deceased had a salary account in State Bank of India, and as per the nomination details, his wife was paid ₹1.2 crore through the accident insurance scheme.

Speaking at the programme, Bhatti Vikramarka said the scheme should stand as a model for public sector enterprises and be replicated across other states to protect worker families from distress in case of accidents.

He further assured that compassionate appointment papers would be provided shortly to the bereaved family.

The programme was attended by Energy Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Singareni CMD N. Balaram, REDCO Vice Chairperson and MD Aneela, SBI DGM Neelakshi Singh, Regional Manager Suresh Kumar, Executive Director (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, and other officials.
