BC leaders thank CM Revanth for 42% quota in local polls

Hyderabad: A delegation of BC leaders led by R. Krishnaiah met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and expressed gratitude for the Telangana Cabinet’s decision to implement 42% reservations for Backward Classes in local body elections.

The group included BC Welfare Association National President R. Krishnaiah, Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Eravatri Anil, and several functionaries from various BC organisations.

They lauded the state government’s move to expand political representation for BCs and welcomed the ordinance approved by the Cabinet to enforce the reservation percentage. The leaders conveyed that the decision marks a significant recognition of BC contributions and long-standing demands for equitable representation in governance.

Meeting the Chief Minister in Hyderabad, the BC leaders hailed the ruling as historic and pledged support to the Congress government’s social justice agenda.
