Bandi Sanjay praises Babu Jagjivan Ram legacy on birth anniversary

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar praised the Babu Jagjivan Ram legacy, calling him a lifelong champion of social justice and a towering figure in Indian politics.

He spoke on the occasion of Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary after paying homage at his statue at Mancherial Crossroads in Karimnagar. Several leaders attended the event, including District Collector Chitra Mishra, MLA Medipalli Satyam, Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, Deputy Mayor Sunil Rao, and corporators.

In a statement, Bandi Sanjay said Jagjivan Ram fought caste discrimination from a young age. He said the leader dedicated his life to the welfare of oppressed communities. “Jagjivan Ram was a leader who confronted caste discrimination from childhood and worked for the uplift of the ‘untouchables’ till his last breath,” he said.

He added that Jagjivan Ram served the nation with commitment for decades. He noted that Jagjivan Ram remained a Member of Parliament from 1952 until 1986. He also highlighted his 29-year tenure as a Union Minister.

Babu Jagjivan Ram’s legacy is rooted in public service

Bandi Sanjay said the Babu Jagjivan Ram legacy reflected dedication to national service and social reform. He stated that Jagjivan Ram stood with Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle and earned respect across political lines.

He said Jagjivan Ram emerged as a leader without adversaries in public life. He added that young people should draw inspiration from his ideals and commitment to reform. He stressed that overcoming hardships remained key to success.

Meanwhile, Bandi Sanjay inaugurated the Mayor’s Camp Office at Teegalaguttapalli in Karimnagar. Mayor Kolagani Srinivas established the facility to improve civic access. BJP leaders and activists welcomed the Union Minister with a traditional Gajamala during the event.

District President Gangadi Krishna Reddy, Deputy Mayor Sunil Rao, BJP corporators, and party workers attended the inauguration in large numbers. Leaders said the office would support local administration and public outreach.
